I Built a Free AI Mock Interview Tool — Here's Why
Preparing for a job interview is stressful enough. Preparing for one in a second language is harder still. As a developer who isn't a native English speaker, I kept running into the same wall: I could answer technical questions in my head, but speaking them out loud, under pressure, in English — that was the part no amount of reading could fix.
So I looked for tools to practice with. There are plenty. But almost every one of them had the same two problems: they cost money, and they buried the actual practice behind sign-up forms, onboarding flows, and endless configuration. I just wanted to upload my CV and start talking.
That's why I built AI Interviewer — a free AI mock interview tool that strips away everything except the part that matters: practicing real interview questions, out loud, and getting honest feedback.
What it actually does
The flow is deliberately short:
- Upload your CV. The AI reads it and figures out your role and seniority level — a fresher and a senior engineer get very different interviews.
- Get a real interview structure. Instead of a flat list of trivia, it builds an interview the way a real one flows: introduction, deep-dives into your actual projects, technical questions grounded in your stack, situational questions, and a wrap-up.
- Answer by voice. Each question is read aloud, and you respond by speaking — just like a real interview. This is the part most tools skip, and it's the part that matters most for English practice.
- Get scored feedback. When you finish, you receive a report with per-question scores and an honest summary of your strengths and gaps.
Why "less" was the whole point
Most interview-prep tools try to do everything. AI Interviewer does one thing: get you from "I need to practice" to "I'm practicing" in the fewest possible steps. There's no account to create, no credit card, no setup. You can start a real mock interview within seconds of landing on the page.
It's free, with a fair-use limit of 5 interviews per day — enough to practice seriously without me going bankrupt on API costs.
Who it's for
If you're a student, a fresher, or anyone preparing for a technical interview — especially in English as a second language — this is built for you. The AI adapts to your background, so whether you're interviewing for a backend role, data analysis, or something else entirely, the questions come from your experience, not a generic question bank.
Try it

I built this because I needed it. If you're in the same spot — knowing your stuff but needing to practice saying it out loud — I hope it helps you the way it helped me.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is AI Interviewer really free?
Yes. There's no account, no credit card, and no hidden tier. The only limit is a fair-use cap of 5 interviews per day per device, mainly to keep AI API costs manageable.
Do I need to create an account to use it?
No. You can upload your CV and start a mock interview immediately, with no sign-up step.
What languages does AI Interviewer support for practice?
The tool is built primarily for English-language interview practice, which is the core use case it was designed to solve.
How does the AI generate interview questions?
It reads your uploaded CV to understand your role, experience, and seniority level, then builds a realistic interview structure — introduction, project deep-dives, technical questions grounded in your background, situational questions, and a wrap-up — instead of pulling from a generic question bank.
